The common scenes of the West Texas landscape have much subtlety in colors and patterns and this recent painting, “Summer Pasture” is a rich symphony of textures and colors of the mid-summer landscape.
I have incorporated the ancient spiral motif, an iconic symbol of the prehistoric, indigenous people who inhabited the Llano Estacada for hundreds of years. It’s painted on 120-year-old, handwritten Texas deed documents which conveyed lands once controlled by the First Nations.
48”x48” Acrylic on 120-year-old, handwritten deed documents glued to gallery wrapped canvas.
Contemporary Texas Artist, Terry Browder, adds another west Texas landscape painting to his gallery of Santa Fe style art. This acrylic painting on canvas has 120-year-old historic documents embedded in the painting by gluing them to the canvas prior to the brush artistry. This unique technique is Terry’s trademark style of artwork. This piece is the perfect choice for wall hanging in a fine home to imbue an atmosphere of the old southwest in a modern art setting. This is a large west texas landscape painting, measuring 48″ x 48″.
